The Communities Connect Project promotes the growth of inclusive communities through connecting people across racial, ethnic, religious and gender lines.
The project aims to address the social isolation of 18 to 30-year-old male asylum seekers from direct provision centres in Meath, Louth, Monaghan and Cavan.
It is funded through the International Protection Integration Fund (IPIF)
As a volunteer mentor in the Communities Connect Project, I’ve witnessed first-hand the power of connecting with other cultures. Participating in the project has given better insights into the lived experiences of migrants in Ireland and helped me connect with other like minds in a community where connection, empathy, and empowerment thrive. Together, we’ve built bridges that will last well beyond the project itself.

Being part of the Communities Connect Project has given me a sense of belonging and hope. This experience has been a reminder that, even in challenging times, we can grow and find our place in the community. I have gained confidence, built new skills, and feel more empowered to navigate life in Ireland.
