Africa Day Event

Africa Day falls on 25th May each year, with celebration events to mark the day around the country. Africa Day was established by the African Union and aims to celebrate African diversity and success and the cultural and economic potential of the continent. In Ireland, events to mark Africa Day are supported by Irish Aid at the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, the Government’s programme for overseas development.
Cultúr Migrant Centre is among several organisations around the country that have been supported by Irish Aid to host Africa Day events this year. Cultúr Migrant Centre would like to thank Irish Aid and Meath County Council for their continued support in organising the Meath Africa Day 2023 celebrations. This year’s celebration will be held on the 27th of May at O, Mahony’s GAA Club Navan Time 11 am-3 pm.
The event comprised a fashion show, music, drum workshop, kids’ games, African cuisine (Taste of Africa) and stalls showcasing cultural artefacts from different countries.
