Africa Day Event 2022

Cultúr Migrant Centre and Meath County Council hosted Meath Africa Day events celebration on the 21st of May at Claremont stadium Navan, with over 211 people from diverse communities in attendance. 
This fantastic family day was an opportunity for people to meet and enjoy the Taste of Africa in Meath after a long wait due to the pandemic. The event showcased a fashion show, African storytelling, drum workshop, Music and artistic performances, kids’ games, African cuisine (Taste of Africa) and 9 stalls displaying cultural artifacts from different parts of Africa. Africa Day falls on 25th May each year, with celebration events to mark the day around the country. Africa Day was established by the African Union and aims to celebrate African diversity and success and the cultural and economic potential of the continent.
This event was funded by the Irish Aid through Meath County Council.
